Roswell Movie In The Works?

The British Hotdog magazine reported a rumor that the canceled SF TV series Roswell may come back as a feature film, in part due to the success of the show's DVD sets. Series creator Jason Katims is reportedly looking at continuing the adventures of Isabel (Katherine Heigl), Michael (Brendan Fehr), Max (Jason Behr) and Liz (Shiri Appleby) in a movie.
Roswell, about four aliens living as high-school students in the famed UFO town in New Mexico, ran for two seasons on The WB before moving in its third and last season to UPN. It left the airwaves in 2003.
Successful DVD sales spurred the development of a movie based on another failed TV show, Joss Whedon's SF western show Firefly, which is in the works as a movie titled Serenity.

According to SciFi's Schedulebot, Roswell returns to the Scifi channel's "daily rotation" in January for two 5-hour blocks, and will pick up where it left off in August.

Roswell DVD Release Date
Fox Home Video has announced today their list of specs for the Roswell - Season 1 DVD giftset. No cover art was provided yet, so stay tuned and we'll bring it to you just as soon as we get it.
The street date is February 17, 2004. According to the early info, all 6 DVDs in this set will be presented in 1.33:1, as seen in the U.S. on standard broadcast. Soundtrack is English 2.0 Dolby Surround, and subtitles are provided. The running time is 968 minutes, and this bad boy will go for a list price of $59.98 in the U.S., and CA$89.98 in Canada.

Roswell Music Changed For DVD
The TVShowsonDVD Web site reports that some of the music originally appearing on the teen-alien series Roswell will be replaced for the upcoming DVD release due to prohibitive licensing fees.
Capitalizing on a previously untapped revenue stream, record companies have been steadily increasing licensing fees for DVDs and home videos in the last few years, forcing distributors to choose between eliminating expensive songs by well-known artists or setting higher retail prices. The site did not specify which songs had been dropped from Roswell, but the series featured music from such high-profile artists as Sarah McLachlan, Dave Matthews Band, Santana and Jewel. The first season of Roswell is due on DVD in February.
